We successfully converted an underutilized pitched butterfly roof into a functional flat roof terrace, fully permitted by the local authority. The structural transformation involved replacing the original slate with a robust frame of four custom-engineered steel beams. We installed $8 \times 2$ roof joists and a high-performance Sika single-ply warm deck system.

To seamlessly connect the interior to the new Ebony Grey Millboard decking, we integrated a Glazing Vision rooflight accessed via a custom internal staircase, featuring bespoke integrated shelving for a refined finish.

After securing planning permission, we stripped back the old slate and reinforced the structure with four massive steel beams and $8 \times 2$ joists. We opted for a Sika single-ply warm deck system for durability and topped it off with sleek Ebony Grey Millboard decking. Inside, we added a Glazing Vision unit for roof access, anchored by a beautiful custom staircase wrapped in integrated shelving.

Conclusion: After obtaining planning permission on behalf of the client from the local authority, we removed the old slated butterfly roof, installed four large steels, designed by our structural engineer and completed with millboard decking.
